EDUCATIONAL AND WORKING BACKGROUND
I graduated with BSc. in Mathematics from Exeter University,
and then pursued a career in IT, including 18 years as a freelance
contractor, and latterly 16 years with HSBC in Sheffield.
In late 2016 I seized the opportunity to re-train in
Indexing, having seen at close quarters what is involved. The
attributes required have many overlaps with my previous career,
including attention to detail, computer skills, accuracy and analysis
of complex ideas. I have recently completed the SI training
course, attaining accreditation as a professional member (MSocInd)
I have already completed 10 commercial indexes, in a
variety of subjects including sports statistics, fluid dynamics,
sociology, rocket technology, biodiversity and meteorology.
